Our Mission
Enhancing the Game of Golf Since 1922
The South Central Section of the PGA is an association of golf professionals dedicated to promoting the overall involvement and enjoyment of golf in the South Central region. Previously known as the Oklahoma Section, we offer tournaments, junior golf activities, training events, playing opportunities and more in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and part of Kansas. Every year, we encourage students to pursue higher education goals through our scholarship program.
The Section’s success would not be possible without the hard work of our 450 PGA Members and Associates. Our PGA professionals are the teachers, business managers, merchandisers and community leaders who reflect the highest standard of professionalism, fair play and sportsmanship in the game. By making our golf game better, we “grow the game of golf” and make it more fun for the many players, employees, manufacturers, and members in the South Central community.

Corey Burd, the PGA Director of Golf at Bailey Ranch Golf Club, has been named the 2024 South Central PGA Golf Professional of the Year. This is the highest annual honor given to a South Central PGA of America Golf Professional, awarded for qualities of leadership, strong moral character, and a ...substantial record of service to the South Central PGA Section and the game of golf.
He currently serves as chairman for the Section Tournament Committee and as a Section Board Member, he serves as President of the Section’s Senior Association. Over the years he has volunteered at four major Championships in Tulsa and served as a Rules Official for PGA Tour Qualifying School.
Being a positive role model to the youth of the community is a passion of Burd’s. Bailey Ranch Golf Club annually hosts numerous youth events including U.S. Kids, South Central PGA Junior Tour, OJGT, Rogers State University, OSSAA Playoffs, Drive Chip and Putt, and many local high school tournaments.
Most recently, and dear to his heart, is his involvement in PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a free program that introduces golf to veterans and active duty military through the PGA of America’s charitable foundation.
